A curator with a background in art journalism, filmmaking, and art history, Uttara began her career archiving prints as an editorial intern. She is an alumna of the Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism, where she specialized in criticism, documentaries, and radio. Uttara has worked at international film festivals, social media companies, and digital archives. Throughout her career, she has also built a strong foundation in strengthening storytelling methods that make use of found footage, community memory, and thoughtful representation practices. Uttara has written and directed short films, television, and documentaries. Her goal is to work across borders and ecosystems to learn and build on visual art through traditional ecological knowledge.
