  • The Living Waters Museum (LWM) is a digital platform curating stories on water heritage, currently based at the Centre for Water Research at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research IISER- Pune.
  • We are a founder member of the Global Network of Water Museums, endorsed by UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Hydrology Program, and adhere to all international best practices followed by digital, virtual or physical museums.

Copyright for Galleries and Stories

  • All content on the Living Waters (LWM) platform has been developed in collaboration with other organisations and individuals including graduate students, interns, artists, writers, designers, physical museums, water-related NGOs and academic institutions. All videos, images, illustrations, icons, photographs and written material are jointly owned by the individual or organisation that created them, and Living Waters Museum.
  • We invite you to use the material on this website for educational or personal purposes only, with due credit and acknowledgement. If you would like access to any specific content, please write to us at livingwatersmuseum@gmail.com for permission, which will only be granted for non-commercial purposes.

Privacy Policy

  • Living Waters Museum does not automatically gather any personal information from you unless you voluntarily log into the site and create a User Account with your personal information and contact details.
  • This information is secure, to the extent that any internet connection is secure, and will not be shared for any commercial purposes or with any other public or private agency. Further, this information is only visible to others who log into the site and create a personal user profile and to site administrators. Living Waters Museum will make all reasonable efforts to maintain our site security.
  • All public communication on the site such as your comments on water stories, or the sharing of ideas and insights must respect individual privacy rights. Please do not use offensive, obscene or discriminatory language which could violate the law.
  • Cookies are only used to track visitors to the site and to determine the proportion of repeat visitors. They do not allow us to identify individuals or disclose any of your personal information.

Data

  • To save the user’s internet bandwidth and data transfer, Living Waters Museum servers will cache files like text, images, videos, 3d models, 3d images, scripts on the server side banded with the browser used by client.
  • Data presented by the LWM portal may get saved in cache memory of the user’s devices (e.g., laptops, smartphones, or tablets) for offline use or in case of network unavailability.

Communication

  • The Administration team for Living Waters Museum will be notifying users through email in case of any updates on the web platforms. If subscribed, users will be notified about new water stories or comments as per users' added collection on the LWM portal.
  • Site Administrators will not use your email for any other purpose.
