Shikhar Shinganapur is a popular pilgrimage site of Maharashtra, situated in a prominent drought prone region. History of this pilgrimage site is traced backed to the 13th century CE. Journey of the deity Shambhu Mahadev and the temple town through the eight centuries is integrated with geography, especially the water sources. This photo-essay explores association of water and historical developments at Shikhar Shinganapur, through a brief review of water structures, popularly known as tirthas.
