Water Varta Exhibition

Exhibition aimed to build a value perspective on water by celebrating water wisdom and exploring the tangible and intangible heritage around water, culture and food in Gujarat through the stories of water pots.

Water Varta (Conversations) exhibition aimed to build a value perspective on water by celebrating water wisdom and exploring the tangible and intangible heritage around water, culture and food in Gujarat through the stories of water pots. This exhibition was done in collaboration with Vishalla and Veechar Museum of Utensils. This exhibition was designed by Swarnika Nimje as her Graduation Project at NID.

The exhibition was first launched at Vishalla on October 6th, 2018, with music, a panel discussion and a short film produced by noted theatre artist Rajoo Barot on the history of the water utensils collections through the eyes of Surendra Bhai Patel, its main architect. Subsequently the exhibition was hosted at the National Institute of Design from November 19-23, 2018. The ceremony is embraced by (left to right on the stage) Abhay Mangaldas, Founder of the House of MG, Pradyumna Vyas, Director of National Institute of Design, Surendra Bhai Patel, Creator of Vechaar Utensils Museum and Rajoo Barot, Gujarati Theatre Artist.
